What First Comment Is
When you write a post, Dashco now lets you add a First Comment that is posted automatically to your own post the moment it goes live.
This is most commonly used on LinkedIn to move links out of the body of the post and into the first comment underneath it. Many users believe LinkedIn rewards posts that keep readers on the platform, so moving the link into the first comment can help your post reach more people.
First Comment is optional. You can leave it blank on any post.
How to Use It
- Open your post in the editor
- Scroll to the First Comment field below the main post content
- Type the comment you want posted, including any links
- Save, schedule, or submit for approval as usual
Your First Comment will publish automatically within a few seconds of the main post going live.
Good Uses for First Comment
- The article, landing page, or product link you're referring to in the post
- A short call to action ("Thoughts? Drop a comment below.")
- A credit or source reference
- Additional context you didn't want cluttering the main post
Notes and Limits
- Not every social network supports First Comment. When it's not supported, the field will be hidden or disabled for that account.
